about joseph horn

Cape Fear Image Works is a family-run motion picture producing organization. Led by husband and wife team Elizabeth Willaman and Joseph Horn, this dedicated group of film and video professionals have made a career of developing and producing high quality content for the big screen, the small screen and the computer screen.

Our first project was the feature film On Oak Island, shot in North Carolina over a period of 10 days with the help of friends and the kindness of strangers. Its success surpassed all our expectations. On Oak Island played at film festivals to sold out crowds, receiving both awards and extended runs across the country. This accomplishment propelled us forward.

The team at Cape Fear Image Works have been responsible for the creation of multiple television shows, short films, and webisodes; not to mention the development and completion of dozens of educational, training and corporate videos, PSA’s, commercials and industrials through our pro services division. We keep a steady stream of projects we are finishing, projects we are beginning and ideas for projects to come.

A graduate of the top ten ranked Shuford School of Performing Arts at Catawba College (2009, Princeton Review), Joseph Horn has both training and experience in a wide variety of disciplines.

In four years as the Creative Director of the Department of Theatre Design for Culver City's Academy of Visual and Performing Arts he led the newly formed department from its inception to being noted by Stage Directions magazine as one of the top five programs of its kind in the nation.

From there he went on to produce, direct and edit for MasterMinds Communications, creating dynamic video content for Los Angeles Unified School District. For his work as director and editor of the feature film "On Oak Island" he received the Ron Tibbett Award for the Advancement of Cinema at the Magnolia Independent Film Festival.

For Cape Fear Image Works, Joseph serves as executive producer, director and editor of the commercial division, where he has overseen the production of dozens of commercials, corporate videos, industrials and documentaries. In addition to these responsibilities, Joseph also directed and edited Cape Fear Image Works’ promo for “The Deserters,” “The Volunteers” short film and the soon to be released pilot for “The Duel.”

cape fear's mission

Also a graduate of the top ten ranked Shuford School of Performing Arts at Catawba College, Elizabeth Willaman is the engine on which Cape Fear Image Works runs. Her responsibilities range from overseeing our marketing effort, to acting as both creative producer and unit production manager on every Cape Fear Image Works production since 2004.

She is the only two-time winner in the history of the prestegious Sindney Blackmer (Rosemary's Baby) Best Actress Award and was a semi-finalist in the English Speaking Shakespeare Competition at The Juliard School.

As a producer, she received the Ron Tibbett Award for the Advancement of Cinema at the Magnolia Independent Film Festival.

She is especially proud of her quickly growing resume as a Steadicam Operator, a craft she decided to undertake only one year ago. She has operated not only on over a dozen Cape Fear Image Works productions, but on music videos, independents and pilots produced all around LA county.

When you contact us, be assured, it'll be Elizabeth answering the phone!
